Peer Review Process
Every manuscript submitted to NUHA-JIRE goes through a double-blind peer review: the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two reviewers from institutions different from the author's, selected for their expertise in the topic.
Review Workflow
| Stage | Activity | Target Time |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Initial check | Template, completeness, and similarity check (Turnitin, maximum 20%) | 3–7 days |
| 2. Desk review | Editor assesses fit with Focus and Scope, novelty, and basic quality | 7 days |
| 3. Peer review | Two or more reviewers evaluate the manuscript using the journal's review form | 2–4 weeks |
| 4. Revision | Authors revise and submit a response table to reviewers' comments | 2 weeks |
| 5. Decision | Editor in Chief decides: accept, minor revision, major revision, or decline | 7 days |
| 6. Production | Copyediting, proofreading, layout, DOI assignment, publication | 2–4 weeks |
Review Criteria
- Relevance to the journal's scope and contribution to knowledge (novelty)
- Clarity of the title, abstract, and keywords
- Soundness of methodology, analysis, and synthesis

The dates of submission, revision, and acceptance are displayed on every published article. The final decision rests with the Editor in Chief and is not influenced by the author's affiliation with the publisher.
