Post-Publication Discussion

INSTINK (Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan, Teknologi Informasi & Komputer) recognizes that scholarly discussion does not end at publication. The journal welcomes constructive, evidence-based comments on published articles and provides a formal mechanism for post-publication discussion, in line with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Principles of Transparency and Best Practice.

1. Submitting a Comment

Readers, researchers, and the authors themselves may submit a comment on any article published in INSTINK by sending an email to the editorial office at [email protected] with the subject line "Post-Publication Comment". The message must include:

  • the full name, affiliation, and email address of the commenter;
  • the title and DOI of the article concerned;
  • the comment itself, focused on the scientific content (data, methods, analysis, or interpretation), supported by evidence or references where possible;
  • a statement of any conflict of interest.

Anonymous comments and comments containing personal attacks, defamatory statements, or content unrelated to the scientific substance of the article will not be considered.

2. Editorial Handling

  1. The Editor-in-Chief acknowledges receipt within 7 working days and assesses whether the comment is substantive and relevant.
  2. Substantive comments are forwarded to the corresponding author, who is given the opportunity to respond within 30 days.
  3. Where necessary, the Editor may seek the opinion of an independent reviewer or a member of the Editorial Board.
  4. The Editor decides whether the comment and the authors' response will be published.

3. Publication of Comments

Comments considered to make a valuable contribution to the scientific discussion may be published as a Letter to the Editor, together with the authors' reply, in a subsequent issue. Published letters are linked to the original article.

4. Outcomes Affecting the Published Article

If the discussion reveals an error, the article will be handled according to the journal's Article Correction and Retraction Policy (erratum, corrigendum, expression of concern, or retraction). If the discussion raises concerns about research or publication misconduct, the case will be handled according to the journal's Research Misconduct, Complaints and Appeals Policy.
