ARCHIVING POLICY

UTILITY is committed to ensuring the permanent availability, accessibility, and long-term preservation of all published scholarly content. The following arrangements are established to ensure that articles remain accessible and preserved even if the journal ceases publication or the journal website becomes temporarily or permanently unavailable.

1. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

UTILITY uses the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a LOCKSS-based digital preservation service provided by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), to support the long-term preservation of its published content.

Published journal issues, including article metadata and full-text files, are preserved through the PKP Preservation Network. The preservation system is designed to maintain multiple archival copies and ensure continued access to the scholarly record in the event that the journal website becomes unavailable.

2. Additional Archiving and Discovery Services

UTILITY also supports the preservation and discoverability of its published articles through the following services:

  • Crossref: Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), providing a persistent and permanent identifier and link to the article.

  • GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital): Journal metadata and published articles are indexed and made discoverable through the national scholarly information system.

  • Indonesia OneSearch: Journal metadata and links to published full-text articles may be harvested and indexed through the Indonesia OneSearch national library discovery service.

These services complement the journal's digital preservation arrangements and help ensure that published content remains discoverable and accessible over the long term.

3. Self-Archiving by Authors

UTILITY allows and encourages authors to self-archive their scholarly work in institutional repositories, personal websites, or relevant subject repositories.

Authors may deposit the submitted manuscript, accepted manuscript, and published version (PDF) of their article, subject to the journal's applicable copyright and licensing terms.

When self-archiving, authors are requested to acknowledge the original publication in UTILITY by providing the complete citation and, where available, a link to the article's DOI or official journal webpage.

4. Integrity of the Published Record

Once an article has been formally published in UTILITY, it becomes part of the permanent scholarly record. Published articles will not be removed or altered except where changes are required in accordance with recognized scholarly publishing practices.

Any correction, retraction, or expression of concern will be handled in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and Article Correction and Retraction Policy. Where a correction or retraction is necessary, the original publication record will remain preserved and appropriately linked to the correction or retraction notice.

Through these preservation and archiving arrangements, UTILITY is committed to maintaining the integrity, accessibility, and long-term availability of its scholarly publications.
