GEN AI POLICY

Generative AI Policy

This journal acknowledges the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI, as supporting tools in academic writing and research. However, the use of these technologies must be conducted with full transparency, responsibility, and strict adherence to academic integrity.

The following policy applies to Authors, Editors, and Reviewers:

1. Authorship

  • AI is Not an Author: AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) do not meet the criteria for authorship. They cannot be listed as an Author or Co-Author.
  • Rationale: Authorship implies legal and scientific responsibility for the published work. AI tools lack legal standing, cannot consent to license/copyright agreements, and cannot be held accountable for the content of the manuscript.

2. Disclosure and Transparency

  • Mandatory Declaration: Authors must disclose the use of generative AI in the preparation of their manuscript. This disclosure should be placed in the Methods or Acknowledgments section.
  • Details Required: Authors must specify:
    1. The name of the tool/application used (including the version, if relevant).
    2. The specific purpose of its use (e.g., for translation assistance, grammar correction, or structural editing).
  • Exceptions: Standard spelling and grammar checking tools (such as built-in word processor checkers or basic Grammarly) do not require specific disclosure, provided they do not significantly alter the scientific substance.

3. Author Accountability

  • Verification of Content: Authors are fully responsible (100%) for the accuracy, validity, and originality of the entire content of the manuscript.
  • Risk of Hallucinations: Authors acknowledge that generative AI can produce incorrect, biased, or incomplete information, as well as fictitious citations ("hallucinations"). Therefore, authors are required to carefully review and verify every sentence and reference suggested by AI.
  • Plagiarism: The use of AI-generated text without proper review may result in unintentional plagiarism. Authors must ensure the manuscript remains original and free from plagiarism.

4. Images and Multimedia Policy

  • Generative Images: This journal does not permit the use of images, diagrams, or scientific illustrations entirely created or manipulated using generative AI, as this may compromise the integrity of scientific data.
  • Exceptions: AI-generated images are allowed only if the research topic specifically addresses AI technology or AI-based visual design, and this must be clearly explained in the manuscript.

5. Policy for Editors and Reviewers (Confidentiality)

  • Prohibition on Uploading Manuscripts: Editors and Reviewers are strictly prohibited from uploading manuscripts under review (including abstracts, tables, or data) into public generative AI tools (such as public versions of ChatGPT).
  • Ethical Violation: Uploading another person's manuscript to a third-party AI platform is considered a breach of confidentiality and violates the author's proprietary rights, as the data could potentially be stored and used to train AI models.

Statement of AI Usage:

"During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [Name of Tool/Service, e.g., ChatGPT-4] in order to [Reason, e.g., improve readability and language structure]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication."
