Counseling on zakat for the Yasin congregation of Miftahul Huda Mosque aims to raise awareness of zakat while simultaneously training the preaching competence of prospective Islamic Education (PAI) teachers. The background of this activity lies in the congregation’s limited understanding of zakat on wealth, profession, and agriculture, which is generally confined only to zakat al-fitr. The methods applied include interactive lectures, discussions, calculation simulations, and student preaching reflections. The results show a significant increase in the congregation’s understanding of the types and calculation procedures of zakat, accompanied by active participation in practice. For students, this activity provided real preaching experience, communication training, and the ability to respond to congregational questions in an applicative manner. The evaluation confirmed the effectiveness of the activity, while student reflections revealed an improvement in preaching competence. This activity successfully fostered synergy between the university and the community and is worthy of broader development.
