Abstract

Majelis taklim (Islamic study congregation) is a strategic religious institution, particularly for women, in building the spiritual resilience of families and society. This article aims to examine the importance of developing the Al-Hidayah Mothers’ Majelis Taklim not only as a routine religious study forum but also as a center for the education of applied values of Ahlussunnah Wal Jama'ah (Aswaja) An-Nahdliyah. The methods used include literature study and descriptive analysis of the potential and strategies for its development. The focused Aswaja values to be instilled comprise At-Tawassuth (moderation), At-Tawazun (balance), Al-I'tidal (justice), and Tasamuh (tolerance). The proposed development strategies include capacity building for mentors, development of contextual curricula, interactive learning methods, utilization of digital technology, and social action programs. The expected outcome of this development is the realization of resilient families and a harmonious society, where mothers serve as effective agents of change in instilling the values of wasathiyah (moderate) Islam and acting as a bulwark against radical ideologies. Thus, this majelis taklim can become a center for spreading benefits that empower families and strengthen social cohesion.
